Santa Lucia, Ilocos Sur
After Puerto Galera, we were again on the road in a private van to Ilocos Sur to visit our relatives from my father's side. Our driver drove eight hours through the night from Manila. We woke up the next morning just in time to visit the town's market to buy fresh fish and vegetables for lunch. There are still no telephones in my grandmother's farm so they can never prepare for our visits.
By nine in the morning, my aunt already had the wash done along our peanut-filled yard.
